This section includes results of DNA testing, the Meeker line’s English roots, principal surnames, and copies of family histories written by Meekers.
The advent of Y-DNA testing and sequencing of ancient samples of DNA allow us to trace the family’s trajectory from prehistory to the present day as depicted in the image above, but thus far historical records provide evidence of the family’s existence only as of the middle of the 15th century in England.
At the time of the Great Puritan Migration (1620-1640), the Meaker surname was found principally in the Southwest Country and London, with the highest concentration found in Somerset. For more information, click on the links below.
